ACL Two: Persib Past The Cong-Viettel 1-0
Persib Bandung moved to the top of the group on Wednesday as Mariano Peralta’s first-half penalty gave them a 1-0 win over The Cong-Viettel in the second round of the AFC Champions League Two 2026/27 Group Stage, Group E at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung.
The Indonesian champions have now won both of their matches and have six points, following an opening 1-0 victory away at FC Seoul on 16 September. The Vietnamese side, who drew 1-1 with Melbourne Victory on matchday one, remain on one point.
Persib took control from the start. Peralta had the hosts’ first chance in the second minute and went close again in the seventh, but he could not convert either.
The breakthrough came late in the first half, when Peralta was brought down inside the box. He took the penalty himself and put Persib 1-0 up going into the break.
The second half turned bad-tempered. In the 67th minute, The Cong-Viettel were reduced to ten men when Paulinho received a second yellow card for a foul on Peralta. Six minutes later, Persib were also down to ten after Marc Klok’s foul on Nguyen Hoang Minh Duc.
Neither side found the net again, and Persib held on for the win.
Persib lead Group E with six points, two ahead of Melbourne Victory, who beat FC Seoul 3-0 on the same night. The Cong-Viettel are third with one point, while Seoul have lost both of their games and are without a point.
